North Dakota Secretary of State Business Entity Search

In the state of North Dakota, individuals can search for both domestic and foreign entities using the free North Dakota Secretary of State Business Records Search. Users have the option of searching by Entity Name, System ID, Owner Name, License Number, or City and County. For aspiring business owners in the state, the search tool can be used as a Name Availability Search. This is done by having the user enter the planned name of his or her entity and checking to see if the name has already been filed.

How to Search

Step 1 – Head to This Webpage. Once the user is at the search page, select the Search Criteria that the search will be completed with and enter the Entity Name or System ID into the empty text box. If the user would only like to view Contractor Licensed records only, then he or she can enter the Owner Name, License Number, City, and County before selecting the Search button.

Step 2 – Once the Search button has been selected, the user will be shown a list of matching entities. To view in-depth information on one of these companies, select the Business’ Type – Status.

Step 3 – The information that the user will have access to consists of the company’s System ID, Type, Status, Original File Date, State of Origin, Phone, Effective Date, Nature of Business, Principal Office, Registered Agent information. The user will also have the option to Generate an Annual Report to File for the entity.
