Form an LLC in the state of Arkansas by utilizing the Arkansas Secretary of State Corporations Online Filing System to file the Articles of Organization online or by downloading the PDF version and mailing in the completed application. For domestic applications (corporations original to Arkansas), the filing fee for the online method is $45 and $50 for the PDF method. For foreign applications (corporations created in a state other than Arkansas), the filing fee is $270 for the online method and $300 for the PDF method.

How to Form

Step 1 – Go to the Arkansas Business Entity Search Page and check to see if the name of your desired LLC is available in the state. Do this by either selecting Domestic Limited Liability Company or Foreign Limited Liability Company from the drop-down menu and entering in the real or fictitious name of the company. If your LLC name is taken, the applicant can create a new LLC name or create a fictitious name similar to the originally desired LLC name.

Step 2 – Once you have selected an available name for your planned entity, begin the application process by utilizing one of the four application methods below:

Step 3 – For Domestic LLCs, attach a dollar amount (in the form of a check) of $50 to the completed application. For Foreign applications attach a check for $300.

After the Formation

Although not necessarily required for the formation of an LLC, the two suggestions below can significantly improve the operation of said entity:

Apply for an EIN Number – This number (called a Federal Tax ID) is issued by the IRS and allows an LLC to engage in financial activities such as applying for credit cards and creating bank accounts.

Complete an Operating Agreement – This form organizes and safeguards an LLC by stating the various roles of members within the company, the company’s purpose, and the details regarding management within the LLC.
